Our Pastor
Meet Pastor Jim
Jim was born and raised in Brownsville. He has been married to the love of his life Peggy since 1980.

Jim began his Church ministry as Assistant Pastor at 1st. Baptist Church in Dallas years ago when it was under the direction of Dr. W. A. Criswell. Prior to college he was serving the Lord in a surf ministry on South Padre Island with four other individuals.
He also worked with the Billy Graham Crusades in Dallas in the early seventies and recently as a prison minster volunteering to serve those behind the walls with the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and also with a well-known Motorcycle Ministry known as Road Riders for Jesus.
Jim has also served as a fill in Pastor for several congregations in South Texas plus served as the Pastor with another congregation prior to being with the Church on the Arroyo.
​His messages at the pulpit are Bible based, truthful with no fluff designed to provide a greater reliability on Gods ability to following Gods direction instead of humanities.

The Church on the Arroyo is located in Arroyo City (Rio Hondo), Texas. We are a vibrant congregation dedicated to serving the spiritual needs of our surrounding community. Our Church is deeply rooted in God's words, and our doors are open to all in the community seeking a casual, come as you are Church home. We are a caring and praying Church. A Church that welcomes all with a smile and Gods Love!

We Have A Place For You
At The Church on the Arroyo we have opportunities for those that have a desire to be active within the Church. Some of the activities we have available are in starting a choir, musicians (musical instrument players, drums, guitars,etc.) prison ministry and service for our community.
